Clinical staff support

A team of highly-qualified nursing staff, clinicians, clinical support workers, radiographers, human performance laboratory (HPL) etc are employed on a permanent basis from a range of clinical specialties to help support studies at the WTCRF. Each research project will be allocated to a nursing team who can assist with:
  • Patient appointments
  • Data collection to Good Clinical Practice Standards
  • Storage of CRFs and study files for the duration of the study

  • Non-invasive blood pressure (NIBP) monitoring
  • Electrocardiogram (ECG) - 12 lead or bedside monitoring
  • Skin punch biopsy
  • Oxygen saturation monitoring
  • Venepuncture cannulation
  • Paediatric venepuncture
  • Ultrasound echo and carotid intima-media thickness (IMT)
  • Transabdominal (TA) and transvaginal (TV) scanning
  • Pulse Wave velocity
  • In depth research interviews
  • Cognitive testing
  • Consent
  • Video recording
  • Clinician support for studies
  • Audio digital recording
