Minor Procedure Suite

Thanks to funding from the North West Regional Development Agency, the NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Centre has recently established a Minor Procedure Suite located within the Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Facility (WTCRF). The Minor Procedure Suite is managed by the WTCRF, and we are responsible for its day-to-day running.

Benefits

The WTCRF provides a supportive, participant focused environment to support clinical research studies from a wide range of disciplines, led by investigators in both adult and paediatric studies (inpatient/outpatient). The benefits of the Minor Procedure Suite being situated within the WTCRF are vast and include:

  • Access to a core clinical research team fully trained in Good Clinical Practice
  • On-site access to laboratories for initial processing of samples and storage
  • Administrative support from staff experienced in supporting research studies from initial study design to closure

The Facility also provides access to a 1.5 MR scanner suite and other clinical services that could be utilised within a study. The WTCRF is a secure building with swipe card access to all floors providing a safe environment for participants and researchers.

The WTCRF is situated on the Central Manchester University Hospitals site which provides access to services such as: Resuscitation, Pharmacy, Decontamination Service Department (DSD), Medical Engineers and Maintenance (MEAM), Tissue Biobank etc.
